Recovery Supportive Workplaces understand that employee’s recovery from any form of illness, mental or physical, including substance use and addiction will be handled with care and respect for all, no matter the circumstances. Why? Because it is good for the organization, the employee and family, and the larger community.


Presenters:


Amy S. Klein, MA has over 35 years in business and industry working in environments from manufacturing plants to human service nonprofits. As a Human Resources executive, Amy has spent her career putting systems in place that benefit the employer and the employee and create high performing, high morale and happy and healthy workplaces. Amy worked as a consultant with Hampshire HOPE for several years.


Stan Schapiro, LICSW has over 35 years of experience working in, developing and overseeing programs for people dealing with mental health and substance use disorders.  He has worked as a consultant and volunteer with Hampshire HOPE for several years.


Amy and Stan worked together in a large non-profit that put into place a Trauma Informed Workplace. They also worked to create an open and inclusive environment that led to the organization being awarded TOP WORKPLACE for the last 5 consecutive years!


Together Amy and Stan have worked with the Northampton Health Department and Hampshire HOPE to develop this initiative.
