Aug 2: MassHire Manufacturing Skills Initiative

Do you work with individuals and families who need good jobs? Let them know that they can learn about how to access no-cost training and a supported pathway to stable manufacturing employment and upward career growth at a 1-hour online Information Session.. The final opportunity to apply for training at Greenfield Community College that begins in September is the Information Session on Monday, August 2 at 3pm.

To sign up for the Info Session link, folks can call the Franklin Hampshire Career Center at 413-774-4361 or go to the GCC Manufacturing page and register themselves on an online form: https://gcc.mass.edu/manufacturing/

The Manufacturing Skills Initiative (MSI) – a partnership between GCC and the Franklin Hampshire Workforce Board - is recruiting for the next 4-week Foundational Manufacturing skills training which starts in September. That training includes a supported pathway to employment – resume, cover letter, interview skills and job search help – and can also qualify graduates for a next-level hands-on 8-week CNC Operator training in October for those who want to start on the path to becoming a skilled precision machinist.

We have graduated over 180 people from CNC training in the past 7 years with an 85% job placement rate, and only 1 person has had to pay anything toward the cost of the nearly $6,000 training tuition. For those who like computers and like making things, advanced manufacturing can be a rewarding career with lifelong learning opportunities.
