An Open Invitation to our community from the Northampton Recovery Center:
We would like to invite you to participate in a listening session to help us attend to a significant part of our mission that we haven’t yet had the capacity to accomplish.
Here at the Northampton Recovery Center, we have always had a commitment to the families, friends, and allies of those who are both coping and struggling with substance use issues. This past fall, we have been putting together a program of support that we hope will better meet those needs. To be frank, this is a very special ask. For families, the journey can seem overwhelming.
Who can help? What should we do or not do? What resources can I call upon? And what should I do?
If you are currently coping and struggling with addiction in your family, we would like to invite you to a session of sharing and listening to your concerns.
On Thursday, 3/17, from 5:00 pm to 6:30, we will hold an open discussion at the Northampton Recovery Center, at 25 Armory St., Northampton, MA.
Attendance is limited so please be sure to RSVP to tdayton@wmtcinfo.org
(Light refreshments will be available and you will receive an Amazon gift card as a thanks for your time.)
We hope to learn what is helping and what is not helping. What you need and can’t find. What your frustrations and your hopes are. Navigating addiction is a confusing, painful, and emotional experience in your lives. We hope to learn from those struggles.
Thank you for considering being a part of this process. If you know of other families who are struggling with addiction, and feel they might like to participate and help with this program, please invite them. Without your input, we know the program will not be as helpful as it has the potential to be. With your input, we hope to help other families navigate their own journeys.
Sincerely,
Trevor Dayton and all of us at the Northampton Recovery Center.
