Resources from Project Bread

Even with the vaccine rollout in full swing and case numbers down, the Covid-19 pandemic has led to increased unemployment, housing instability, and increased food costs.

Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline is asking for your help in notifying your clients and colleagues about SNAP and the other food resources available across the state to help bolster residents. We hope that the FoodSource Hotline can be a resource for your organization and for folks that need food assistance this summer.

Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline (1-800-645-8333) is a statewide, confidential resource line designated to help people across Massachusetts access a variety of food resources including SNAP. Our hotline counselors can offer SNAP eligibility screenings and provide over-the-phone application assistance to help those who may be intimidated by the application process. We can also provide information on food pantries, community meals, and other low costs food programs.

Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm. We are able to assist callers in 180 languages through bilingual staff and our interpreter service. Clients are also encouraged to connect with us via our Live Chat feature on www.gettingsnap.org!

We hope that you will share our Hotline’s services and contact information with your members. I have attached a description page of our Hotline services which you can copy and share with members and colleagues. If you have any questions or would like additional outreach materials (free of cost), please return the attached Outreach Materials Request form by mail, fax, or email; or reach out to me at Leah_Schenkel or 617-239-2588.
