Update from Valley Community Development

Special Announcement from Board President Madeline Blanchette:

"I am writing to let you know that Valley and Executive Director Jane Loechler have decided to part ways. As everyone is aware, it has been a difficult year with the pandemic, and we want to thank Jane for all of her hard work on behalf of the organization. We wish her the best of luck.

Already, our Board of Directors has created a team committed to the expedient and successful hiring of a new executive director, whom we expect to have at the helm by December. In the meantime, we have hired Peter Jessop to serve as interim executive director, and we know his leadership will make the transition a smooth and seamless one.

As a longtime member of Valley’s Board of Directors and a three-term board president, Peter has been maintaining the stability and continuity of the organization, ensuring that our housing development projects are on track; helping business owners access Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act grants; and overseeing new home buyer and small business counseling and workshops.

Professionally, Peter has a first-hand understanding of our mission. He is the founder and former president of Integrity Development and Construction, Inc., and over his three-decade-long career, he was involved in the development and construction of over 400 units of affordable housing in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Arizona, along with the development of market-rate housing.

Please know that Valley Community Development—an organization that serves the community in so many ways—has been thorough in its approach to this transition. We will update you when we have news on an incoming Executive Director.

The board and I thank you for your support of and involvement with Valley Community Development. We are Transition Strong!"
